Outfalls Definition

An outfall is defined as the outlet point of a pipe or other type of stormwater conveyance line where stormwater runoff generated from within the MS4 boundary is discharged to a receiving water. Regulatory definitions of outfalls defined by the state regulatory authority typically include a minimum size or flow rate capacity.

Wet Weather Inspections

Wet Weather Inspections are typically required during the rainy season as part of the Water Quality Monitoring program. Outfall inspections in 2Nform are also designed for field staff to perform and record wet weather inspections and sampling. If flow is present, additional data fields to record field measurements and sampling data are available.
