Setting up 2NFORM Sync for ArcGIS Online

Make sure you have the prerequisites done. When your organization is ready to move forward, follow these steps.

Step 1: Assign 2NDNATURE as a ArcGIS Online named user.

In order to provide 2NDNATURE with secure access to your ArcGIS Online environment, a member of your ArcGIS Online organization must be designated for shared use with 2NDNATURE. The member will be used to set up and maintain the ArcGIS sync for 2NFORM. For security purposes the ArcGIS Online member must be given a Creator user type with the Publisher role.

Step 2: Create a “2NFORM” group in your ArcGIS Online organization

Creating a 2NFORM group will consolidate your user ArcGIS Online permissions for stormwater data.  To create a group in ArcGIS Online:

1.   Go to arcgis.com and sign-in with your username and password.

2.   Click on the Groups tab at the top of the page.

3.   From the My Groups page, select Create group from the left hand side of the screen.

Note: If you cannot create a group in ArcGIS Online you may not have the correct privileges

4.   Name the group 2NFORM

Step 3: Assign the 2NDNATURE member to the 2NFORM group

Assign the member you created in Step 1 to the new group you created in Step 2.

Step 4: Share your designated user credentials with 2NDNATURE

We recommend sending any sensitive information like login usernames and passwords via encrypted email via Outlook encryption or Gmail encryption. Or you can call your 2NDNATURE partner and verbally transfer the username and password.

Step 5: 2NDNATURE establishes and confirms the sync

The 2NDNATURE GIS team will establish the digital sync and alert your team when complete. The teams will conduct a series of simple QA checks together to ensure the sync is correct.  Going forward, 2NDNATURE will ensure your 2NFORM account and ArcGIS Online environment doesn’t fall out of sync due to Esri or 2NDNATURE software updates.
