No matter the module, 2NFORM provides a standard experience to assign tasks to a group’s users.
In this article, we provide tips for assigning, updating, and filtering to manage your task assignments:
Overview
The Task Assignment feature streamlines the management and completion of tasks across the stormwater program.
- For program managers, this functionality streamlines work distribution by providing a clear view of who is responsible for each task. Managers can efficiently allocate workload, identify bottlenecks, and respond to changing priorities. Assignments can be made individually or in bulk. Tasks can be easily reassigned as staffing or project needs evolve, ensuring program flexibility and accountability.
- For field staff and data managers, the assignee filter allows you to view only the tasks assigned to you, streamlining your daily workflows and eliminating confusion about priorities. This focused view helps you efficiently plan your work and track your progress without sorting through tasks assigned to other team members.
- Task assignments are currently available in the Municipal Maintenance, Construction, Post-Construction, and Industrial/Commercial modules, integrating seamlessly with existing To Do workflows and requiring no changes to current processes.

Assign Tasks
Tasks can be assigned to any 2NFORM user who has a role of Admin, Data Manager, or Field Person and access to the module. Learn more about Managing Users.
Assign One Task at a Time
- Click on the icon in the Assignee column for the specific task.
- Select the user. Use the search field to filter.
Assign in Bulk
- Use the checkboxes on the left to select the tasks. Use the checkbox in the header row to select all.
- In one of the selected rows, click on the icon in the Assignee column for the specific task.
- All tasks are updated.
Unassign Tasks
Either in bulk or singly, select the icon in the Assignee column and select “Unassigned”. The assignee will appear as “?”.
Filter Tasks
Use the Filter To Do tasks to filter tasks by geographic area, assignee, and/or due dates. Use these filters to:
- See a specific team member's workload: Assignee filter.
- Assign all unassigned tasks due this month: Assignee filter as “Unassigned” with Due Date filter set from beginning of week to end of week. Then use the bulk assignment workflow to assign the work.
- Stay on top of all past due work: Due Date filter as “To: Today’s Date”.
- Reassign tasks when someone is out sick: Assignee filter. Then use the bulk assignment workflow to select a new team member.
- See the work scheduled in a specific watershed or zone: Zone/Watershed filter. Then sort To Do sections by due date.
